Hi, I’m Chris

I’m an editor at ESPN.com. I like assigning stories like these.

I write, too. I went to Paris to report an essay for The New Yorker about vintage saxophones. I went to Manchester and wrote an essay for The Believer about cricket. I’ve written about Drum Corps International for The New York Times and organs for the New York Times Magazine. I’ve done stories about the putter maker Scotty Cameron and the YouTube chef Andrew Rea for Bloomberg Businessweek.

I’ve spent time with Wynton Marsalis at the Metropolitan Opera House and talked to a bunch of band leaders about getting on TV and then getting fired. In a past life, I wrote a lot about tennis. What I’m trying to say is: I’m always looking around for a good story.
